27 January 2010

Flybe will launch new flights from Birmingham Airport to Perpignan this summer.

The airline announced that it will offer three weekly flights to the destination in southern France on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays between July 13th and August 31st.

Mike Rutter, Flybe's chief commercial officer, said the airline was "delighted" to be increasing its presence at Birmingham Airport and strengthening its commitment to the Midlands.

He added: "Flybe has continued to grow and we remain committed to providing the widest, most convenient and affordable range of holiday flights for our passengers."

John Morris, head of corporate affairs at Birmingham Airport, said that the new flights are "great news" for people who want to explore the "coastal and mountainous surroundings" of southern France.
